about.
I have been experimenting with digital media manipulation. Kaleidoscope involves quadrilateral symmetry. Pareidolia involves bilateral symmetry. Each body playing with the inverted colors of the reference images used. As I’ve explored these images, Otherworldly: Negative to Positive Reflections have been found. Using portions of landscape images and their respective negative color schemes, I’ve been learning to digitally paint using a variety of different compositions as my palette. The propensity to find patterns in random information is hopefully invoked in these bodies of work.
I was born in Orem, Utah and have lived a variety of places throughout my upbringing. I ultimately landed in Boise, Idaho from Harrisonburg, Louisiana in 2001. I earned an Associates of Applied Science in Technical Drafting from the College of Western Idaho and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting from Boise State University. My emphasis is my passion. May you find a personal visual impact from these abstracted impressions. TIA MARIE
